Jeroen Geurts PhD is a Principal Investigator at the Department of Rheumatology at Lausanne University Hospital (Switzerland). 

He is pursuing translational osteoarthritis & bone research with a particular focus on molecular and cellular regulation of subchondral bone and marrow adipose tissue remodeling in different joint types and disease phenotypes. To this end, he has developed and applied novel techniques to study human specimens including osteochondral explant models and 3D optical microscopy.

He has been elected as academy member of the European Calcified Tissue Society in 2021 and acts as YI chair at the European Orthopaedic Research Society. He served as OARSI YI member and chair from 2014-2018.
